A downloadable mod

      Welcome to Coastal NC, the place I grew up farming, fishing and, logging for a living.  Beulahland farms is located in Hyde Co the largest and least populated county in NC. Everyone here has ties to farming, fishing, and logging. Like most, our farm grew corn, wheat, soybeans, and cotton and  was run for well over 180 yrs and grew to 2500 acres before selling out in the early 2000s after one too many hurricanes and lost crops. Moving on from the family farm I followed other family members into the fishing and boat building industries  on the Outer Banks which is just across the Pamlico Sound...   

     With all that said, I've wanted to make a FS map of the area for years but had no idea how.  When the editor dropped in November I had to learn as much as I could and at least build something playable for myself and son. the map covers 100sqKM and scaled down to 16sqKM to make it accurate but very playable...  3 months and 500 hours later,  I'm pretty happy with the results although only 90% done and plenty of mistakes,  I'm releasing it as a beta to allow folks to test and get ideas on how to make it better.  

     Map was built with the idea of making  it as accurate to the area as possible(i am constantly getting Deja vu driving through the map, working the fields or looking across the landscape.), and also make it a very playable 4km map and have the freedom to do what ever floats your boat.  The map is split into 3 parts mixed throughout the map. equal parts farming, logging and if all goes well in the distant future fishing! 100s of acres of undeveloped land to build whatever you wish. 

    My intentions are to release this on Giants Mod Hub eventually, but spring and real life obligations are coming fast and finding time to get it finished and up to Giants standards is going to be tough. So here it is as an early release version. i plan to release patches as needed and a major update later this summer. enjoy as single player or come find us on our dedicated server.   

     -still lots to do to get the map to my standards but fully playable with 0 errors

     - 5 fully functional farms

     - multiple sell points, gas stations, shop and animal dealer

     - 72 fields from 2 to 45 acres for all size farms

     - 12 floodable "duck impoundments" for rice, corn, and sorghum

     - 29000 trees 30000 max trees...several thousand acres of pine plantations and hardwoods to get deep into logging

     - lots of water to keep it 100 percent accurate and hopefully fish as a new crop type and commercial fishing as a new way of making money

     - no large scale animal husbandries or productions are found here irl. so for accuracy sake I did not add any to the map,  but plenty of room to create whatever you like 

     all buildings on all farms are sellable for a completely custom farm to suit your needs

I love the map.  Great job.  

My only request would be that you make it so 100% of the map is buyable.

I was debating when making the map how to address that. finally decided to set it up the way I did because of ownership of decoration buildings that were not able to be sold... 

I don’t disagree with that but I cant mow the grass on all the other properties lol

i have an issuse when i click to play the map, the map stays on 55% when loading!, please help this is the only map i enjoy so far and dont want to lose all my progress

Sorry to hear that... I've had a few folks mention the same thing but its rare!! Most systems seem to run it perfectly and the issues seem to be with mods or available ram, some of the map files are pretty large because of the detail...  add that with a high poly mod, the combination seems to be enough to cause performance issues... Glad you were enjoying the map before having issues.  my advice would be to remove your most recent mods and optimize memory usage on your pc that has fixed almost all the issues guys have been having. keep me posted ill help anyway I can!!

This is a great map. My only issue is this map forces closes my game. Not sure why its doing it, its the only map that does a force close (its probably my stuff, but no errors in the log). 

Either way, the map is solid, feels like any of the coastal regions on the east coast so i feel at home. keep it up!

Thanks man!! glad your enjoying it!!! I've had 1 other guy say it force closes when sleeping for him... I think its mod or system related.... slight chance it could be some of the file sizes in the map from the detail, mixed with larger mods...

I've fumbled my way through this... sooooo much to learn!! but its been fun and definitely worth it! So much left to do too!!

I'm in wilkesboro nc I thought farm sim players in North Carolina were far and few on PC.I know in Wilkes county there's a lot of farming be a great map idea.Thanks for this awesome map for now.NC LOVE

looks great, spent some time exploring by car this evening. Reminds me of a place I lived for 20 odd years here in AUS, just replace all the crops with Sugar Cane and its almost identical. Good mix of the various straight timber, gonna be hard to resist playing it for a while before it is 100%

Thanks man! itll be awhile before you need a new save with the small patches coming out seems like most of the flaws and fixes are just cosmetic. background and decorations.

There's a floating vehicle above a driveway for random house near field 47 (not the one on stilts). Approximate coordinates 2116, 294

Thanks, i noticed it on the road between the shop and the white farm the first time I loaded in after publishing the map... no idea how i missed that...  lmao Ive got a patch coming soon, and that car is on the list! Thanks!!

So far it seems like a gorgeous map <3

I played on it for a couple hours and found a few minor things that weren't mentioned in your known issues response below:

Field 56: I picked up a spraying contract for this field and could not make progress on it (I could spray so permission was fine, just no progress towards completion)

Field 68: There's a floating Oak Tree in the field (coordinates: 3008, 697)

Sound: When you get close to the north side of fields 1/2 (near starting farm) you start hearing waves lapping at the shore, and that sound continues until close to field 41... I'm assuming it's not supposed to have that sound there as the sound isn't there near the south side of fields 1/2, which is much closer to the shore.

Field 58: Missing entrance?

Farm by Field 52: Floating well, barrel, and yard tools by the house.

notes taken!! working on a new patch coming this afternoon 3/23/25... completely new sound map added this morning before i read this! thanks again!! i need all the eyes i can to find all those little things!!

I have a few more for you.

Field 60: Could not make progress on a spraying contract (I am literally starting with just a sprayer and not using borrowed equipment so spraying and fertilizing contracts are all I have tested so far lol). Not sure if this is tied to a region of the map as it is near field 56, but if it is then it might be worth knowing that field 61 worked fine on a fertilizing contract.

East of Field 64: There is the water feature where it's spouting water like it's coming out of a pipe, but not actually in the pipe. (approximate coordinates: 3472, 76)

South of the Grain Barge Terminal 02: There is a wheat icon floating on the water? (approximate coordinates: 1980, 3260)

are you using the double fertilizing mod? If so, you can't do contracts with it unless you disable the double application.

Field 16: GPS lines only show for the headland. Working the field seemed to work fine (liquid fertilizer), just had to use compass/eyes/map to do the middle of the field.

VERY VERY minor thing that probably isn't worth fixing unless it's literally just an edit to a text input: the screen that pops up when you find the first collectible says
"... Will you be the first to collect all 25?
You found a farm ball! There are 49 more."
Finding subsequent ones will just have the countdown (48, 47...) as expected so it's really not anything anybody else would notice lol.

I also now realize that icon below the Grain Barge is probably a collectible? But there's no action for it, likely because you're swimming there and the collectible is out of reach?

I saw that too and cant find the script for the text it may be base game files I cant get to... still looking into it!!

I found a few trees that may be an issue.

Field 38: NE corner has a tree half in the field (right on the corner @ 2459, 1323) and one next to it fully in the field (2458, 1330)

Field 72: A minor  one, but can be annoying. There's a tree outside the field where it comes to the point (1762, 15) that makes it so even a relatively small-ish (6.5m) implement gets stuck between that tree and the collision field for the border of the map. It's not major as you can take the tree out if you own the land obviously and it only prevents a VERY small section from being done if you're doing contract work on it so no issues finishing it.

yep! In real life there is about 3 feet of elevation change over the entire area the map covers.   Real life dem was used to build the terrain, mainly to make roads, canals, creeks and other bodies of water 100 percent accurate!!

Great looking map with TONS of potential. Only thing I would ask is that you make EVERYTHING removal: The boats and other items in the cool old barn on the starting farm...I could delete the barn but NOT the items within. I would like to use the barn to store equipment and keep the OLD STYLE buildings there.

yeah i knew i was going to hear about that... hahhaha

   All the boats and decorations in that barn will be removed in the final version... thats my boat shop and business in real life, so I was playing with the idea of editing that building to include the decorations and make it all sellable with the building itself... its the only building on the map that has any decorations for that reason.

Nice looking map, well done. The only glitch I have noticed so far is the map edges but you have already mentioned that. Keep it up, thank you.

known issues are 

-2 shop icons

-mod dependencies are not registering and downloading automatically from mod hub....FIXED!!

-traffic glitches and corrects itself on bridges

-static and pedestrian loops need work FIXED!!

-background needs alot of attention

new sound map FIXED!!!

let me know what you guys think... the good, bad, and ugly?!?!
